Top 5 Family Friendly Halloween Movies

These family-friendly Halloween movies are great to watch during the Fall, on Halloween, or any time of year. 

Redbox.com conducted a Halloween survey of more than 1,200 members of the Redbox Customer Panel from Sept. 11 – Sept. 18, 2018.

These were the top five family-friendly Halloween movies.

1.    Hocus Pocus

2.    It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

Will this Halloween be the one when the Great Pumpkin comes? Longtime believer Linus thinks so and keeps watch all night in the pumpkin patch to welcome him. Charlie Brown gets into the spooky spirit too, dressing up as a ghost with more eyeholes than needed, but not scaring up the usual kinds of Halloween loot when trick-or-treating.

Never fear, World War I fighting ace Snoopy is here to battle the Red Baron, and in doing so, crash Violet's Halloween party and Linus' vigil as well. Your whole family will be glad it crashed this party. Good grief, you can't help but have a happy Halloween!

3.    Beetlejuice

Based on Tim Burton's blockbuster film of the same name, this animated spin-off features Beetlejuice, the wild “Ghost with the most” from the “Neitherworld” and his mortal best friend Lydia Deetz, a young, perky goth girl attending a private school in a sleepy little Connecticut town.

Upon befriending Lydia, Beetlejuice promptly whisks her off from her ordinary life into wacky adventures in the land of the dead, or Neitherworld, which is filled with kooky characters and madcap monsters at every turn!

4.    The Nightmare Before Christmas

5.    Hotel Transylvania

The film tells the story of Count Dracula, the owner of a hotel called Hotel Transylvania where the world's monsters can take a rest from human civilization. Dracula invites some of the most famous monsters to celebrate the 118th birthday of his daughter Mavis.

When the “human-free hotel” is unexpectedly visited by an ordinary 21-year-old traveler named Jonathan, Dracula must protect Mavis from falling in love with him before the hotel's guests learn that there is a human in the castle, which may jeopardize the hotel's future and his career.

More Halloween Survey Findings:

·“Hocus Pocus,” also celebrating a big milestone with its 25^th anniversary this year, significantly outperforms all other family-friendly Halloween movies.

·Parents with children at home prefer to trick or treating (53%) over watching a scary movie (26%).

·When given the option to choose popcorn or Halloween candy as their favorite snack while watching a scary movie, popcorn was the clear winner for 72% of responders.
