“Marley & Me” is a lighthearted family film about a young couple beginning out in life with a new home, new jobs, a new dog, and three children, none of which are eaten by the dog, or else the film would not be PG.

Various dog types are can be seen in this movie. Lenny is a Bullmastiff, Georgia is a Boston Terrier, Cooper is an English Bulldog, Shep is a Border Collie, Romeo is a Chinese Crested Dog, Juliet is a Poodle, and Henry is a Beauceron, among many others.

As the movie goes, that all changes, though, when he signs up to be the manager of the school basketball team and discovers that his pet dog Bud, a stray golden retriever he adopted, is a natural at the sport.

Josh’s life improves dramatically after Bud joins the team, until the dog’s former owner, Norm Snively (Michael Jeter), comes in the hopes of regaining the canine.

It’s impossible to imagine loving your own dog after this. Here’s a dog who can play basketball, and also wears shoes, which no ordinary dog could do. Not only that, he also has the ability to fly.
