Disney Movies Featuring Princesses

In my opinion, Disney movies are simply the greatest! The ones that really touch your heart though, and stay inside your mind forever, are the ones with princesses.

Behind each film and all its wildest, wackiest, loveliest, and most beautiful characters there is a very important moral; that, to me, just makes the film so enchanting and so enjoyable to watch – at any age!

Generally, the morals that are placed ever so cleverly in the movies, are that it is not right to judge people based on their appearances but rather that you judge them on what is inside of their hearts.

Beauty and The Beast

For example – Beauty and The Beast (which would have to be my favorite Disney movie of all time) very clearly states that judging people based on what they look like is out of the question because you can get yourself into serious trouble for it and end up regretting your judgment for the rest of your life.

The Beast, who once was a handsome prince, harshly judged the enchantress based on her appearance, so he too (as a consequence) became ugly – hence the name, the Beast.

Luckily for him though, he got his second chance, realized what a fool he had been, and completely changed his outlook on things, resulting in him becoming the handsome prince again that he once was!

This amazing act of grace was all thanks to Belle, the beautiful girl that was once just an ordinary person, now a princess. She eventually saw past the big, hideous beast and delved straight into his heart, causing it to basically melt into a kind, forgiving, and most of all loving heart.

Pocahontas
  • Amazon Prime Video (Video on Demand)
  • Irene Bedard, Judy Kuhn, Mel Gibson (Actors)

Pocahontas

Another example is – Pocahontas. Two people, John and Pocahontas, couldn't be more different! One lives in England and is practically royalty. The other lives in America in the wilderness and is practically a vagrant – it's crazy!

Yet they don't let this huge difference keep them from being together; they see past the objects and flaws on the outside and look deep within to what's on the inside of their hearts. This is how it should be too because appearances aren't everything!

Thumbelina

Thumbelina

Disney princess films are also outrageously obvious when it comes to true love being the best kind of love, no matter how long you have to wait and fight for it!

Personally, I think it's wonderful that they are like this because (even though they are just movies) they do actually give you hope and the desire to want to wait for your perfect prince charming to come along and sweep you off your feet, instead of getting involved with all of the wrong princes out there, no matter how charming they are.

A really good example of this is – Thumbelina. All her life she had waited for and dreamed of true love, and just as she was about to give up on it, her perfect prince charming showed up out of nowhere and they fell in love straight away! Very nastily though, she has stolen away and told that her prince was dead and again she lost all hope.

This time though, instead of not giving up hope, she did; and even agreed to marry ‘the mole'. What an absolute tragedy that would have been, especially us knowing that her prince was still alive!

Anyway, she saw the light, thanks to a dear friend of hers, and decided that marrying the wrong guy is worse than being alone, so she ran away.

That wasn't the end though because that same dear friend convinced her that her perfect prince was still alive and she wasn't to give up on him otherwise she would regret it, and what do you know – Thumbelina's prince was still alive and he had come to rescue her. He too hadn't given up hope even though he had heard that she was kidnapped and engaged to the mole;

he was determined to fight for her love and only her love! Now that's true love. If you haven't seen the film it should still be pretty easy to guess that they do end up getting married and living happily ever after – just like all of the other princess Disney films.

So, I would have to say that none of them are better than each other – they are just different, but in extremely good ways! I believe that there is a princess Disney film for so many different problems in life – Walt Disney was a very talented man and I know that his stories will be told and cherished from generation to generation.
