Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan is a masterpiece of anime/manga written by Hajime Isayama.

The story follows a stubborn but perseverant child known as Eren Yeager, along with his childhood friends Mikasa and Armin, in a town called Shiganshina District, which resides within enormous walls to protect them as the “outside world” is known to be plagued by thousands of giant man-eating humanoids known as “Titans”.

These walls have protected humanity for hundreds of years, but one day a colossal titan that has never been seen before destroys the wall of the Shiganshina District. Titans come rushing in eating and destroying everything; as Eren is carried away to safety, he's forced to watch the death of his mother.

On that fateful day, Eren makes a vow “to kill all titans.” Okay now, when people ask me what's my favorite thing about Attack on Titan, it's hard for me to do it because the anime is so amazing.

So the way I'm going to pick these 5 anime titles is by taking everything I feel that makes Attack on Titan great, such as the soundtrack, animation, great characters, storyline, and more. If you enjoyed Attack on Titan, I'm almost 100% sure you'll enjoy these anime also!

The Empire uses powerfully destructive robotic weapons called Knightmares to ensure control, but someone is about to stand up against it. Lelouch, the black prince, has endless ambition and uses the power of the Geass to build a world based on his ideals.

Lelouch's best friend Suzaku Kururugi, the white knight, aspires to justice and strives to live an honest and fair life. (Source & Source) What makes Code Geass a good choice is its great storyline that has twists and turns, so you'll never expect what is going to happen next.

The music is amazing and can fit every scene, whether it's a sad scene that will have you holding back tears or an exciting fight scene that will have you on the edge of your seat. You can't go wrong with watching this, it will be well worth it.

My Hero Academia Uncut, Season 1
  • Amazon Prime Video (Video on Demand)
  • Daiki Yamashita, Justin Briner, Nobuhiko Okamoto (Actors)

2. My Hero Academia

In a world where those with powers known as “Quirks” Izuku Midoriya has aspirations to one day become a hero, but there's a catch — he does not have a Quirk.

Now, Midoriya attends U.A. School–a school that cultivates the next generation of superheroes. (Source)

My hero academia is a great choice as this anime is light-hearted fun but isn't afraid to get dark and pull at the heartstrings whenever it needs to. But this show has a fantastic cast of supporting characters.

Every character is unique and complex in their own ways; Everyone has different powers, so the fights are unique and will have you on the edge of your seat. The show can also get very intense as you watch heroes use their powers to make sure the villains won't rise up and disrupt the peace the heroes have fought so hard to have.

Berserk, Season 1

  • Shin Itagaki (Director) - Jalen K. Cassell (Writer) - Hiroo Maruyama (Producer)

This show might be the most intense and gory show on the list, but don't let that sway you away from this art. This anime has such a great soundtrack that ensues feelings of nostalgia in ways that can't be explained.

This show has a lot of symbolism that I feel anyone can appreciate. It also has an old-school and raw look since it was made in the 1970s that I feel unintentionally compliments the show. This show is a must-watch for any anime fan.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train (Original Japanese Version)
  • Amazon Prime Video (Video on Demand)
  • Akari Kito, Natsuki Hanae, Hiro Shimono (Actors)

4. Demon Slayer

A youth begins a quest to fight demons and save his sister after finding his family slaughtered and his sister turned into a demon. (Source)

Demon Slayer has a kindhearted and brave main character that is almost impossible to hate. I think what makes this show stick out the most for me has to be the animation.

This show's animation is incredible and is arguable the best-animated show on the list. This show also has a great power system that makes sense in its relative universe but is also versatile as you see a bunch of different characters with special abilities that have beautiful animation to go with it. This show should go on your anime list.

5. Jujutsu Kaisen

The story of Jujutsu Kaisen is set in a world where Cursed Spirits feed on unsuspecting humans and fragments of the legendary and feared demon Ryomen Sukuna have been lost and scattered about. Should any curse consume Sukuna's body parts, the power they gain could destroy the world as we know it. (Source)

This show has characters that have a bunch of unique abilities that they use to defeat enemies, but they somehow still manage to make every character relatable in some way. The first opening song, if you haven't heard it already, is a fantastic song that will have you ready to hit the rewind button before the episode even starts.

My favorite thing about this show, personally, is its unique cast of characters. This show has a way of making every character likable in unique ways.

This show also has fluid animation that will have the viewer immersed almost as if they're experiencing the moments with the characters. This should be at the top of any anime viewers list.| Stream on HBO Max
